The poll of residents conducted in May 2004 regarding changes to parking regulations was not positive for the proposed change. There will be no changes to parking regulations on Alcorn Avenue at this time (please see letter below).
The past 10% over-allocation of parking permits is now removed. There are 48 permits issued for 48 spaces.
A review of permit allocation is ongoing and is aimed at ensuring that residents without access to parking receive a permit before a permit holder is allocated a permit for a second vehicle.
CHAPLIN CRESCENT / DAVISVILLE AVENUE / YONGE STREET - Request to install a westbound left-turn green arrow feature
The initial request for this report came out of a community meeting held in the Oriole Park community early in 2006. Please view the Staff Report from March 8, 2006.
TEYCC Approved speed humps conditional upon a favourable poll of the residents on the street. The City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy stipulates householders who would be
directly affected by installing speed humps on Duggan Avenue must be formally

least 60 percent of the responding households must be in favour of installing speed
humps in order to proceed with the installation.
EGLINTON AVENUE EAST / FORMAN AVENUE - Request to review pedestrian crossing times

MADISON AVENUE - Proposed Lay-by, Student Pick-up/Drop-off Area and
Speed Limit Reduction
The issue of road classification was raised at the previous meeting and the following information, which dates back to 1995, has been provided by transportation staff:
The former City of Toronto had an informal road classification system in place with three different levels: Local, Collector and Arterial
Chaplin Cres., from Eglinton Ave. W. to Yonge St. was an arterial road
Oriole Pkwy., from Oxton Ave. to Eglinton Ave. W. was an arterial road
Duplex Ave., from Chaplin Cres. to Eglinton Ave. W. was a collector road
Further to November 2004’s public meeting held by Councillor Walker and OPA, the traffic study is ongoing. Over 2000 copies of the Traffic Study Questionnaire were distributed to the entire neighbourhood; of those, 400 Questionnaires (20%) were returned with comments. These responses have been compiled by Councillor Walker and the City’s Transportation Services will be reviewing and commenting on the responses for direction for future study. New traffic speed and volume counts will be done in May, June and September, with the aim of holding a comprehensive public meeting in the Fall.
PUBLIC MEETING held November 3, 2004 at North Toronto Memorial Community Centre. The meeting was well attended by approximately 220 people. It was generally decided that nothing will be implemented at this time. Lack of Police enforcement and high volumes of traffic on Chaplin Crescent were particularly identified as problems for everyone. Further study to take direction from neighbourhood input questionnaire distributed at the meeting and distributed to all households in Oriole Park (bounded by Yonge St., Eglinton Ave. W., and Chaplin Cres.).
